Who We Are

Our mission is to share the Gospel of God’s redemption of the world through His Son Jesus Christ, to offer the means of grace in our sacraments, and to share the hope of Glory through the proclamation of the Word in the power of the Holy Spirit.

Our church exists to build up in Christ the families who call us home, and to create families of friendship among our parishioners.

We are compelled outward by compassionate love and the leading of the Holy Spirit.

Beautiful liturgy is formational, used by the Holy Spirit to make disciples.

We are countercultural, offering people a deeper rhythm of life and rest.

Passion & Calling

Passion & Calling

“I want to lead a church that takes seriously Jesus’ call to make disciples and to teach them to do the things He commanded them.

I am passionate about the Anglican tradition of worship, the rhythm of life found in the prayer book, and believe that anchoring modern life to ancient wisdom will lead people to flourish. I want to see people come to know Jesus in a real way—a way that changes lives, restores families, and builds communities.

When people stand in awe of the mercy of God, they are compelled to act in ways that demonstrate the interactive Kingdom of God on earth.”

Our Faith

Advent is part of the Episcopal Diocese of Dallas and the worldwide Anglican Communion. We proudly draw from a global, historical tradition, seeking ancient wisdom for our modern times.

We stand on the shoulders of generations of faithful Christians. Our worship, our life of prayer, and our daily practice of faith are rooted in the Great Tradition, which reaches back centuries and grounds us in this modern moment.

An important phrase for us is "Word and Sacrament." In our worship and daily life, we want to orient our lives around the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross—whose merit alone yields our salvation. We seek to feed our souls regularly on the teachings of Scripture and the gift of Communion, wherein we are strengthened for daily life in the world.

As a member of the Anglican Communion, we hold to the historic faith expressed in the Nicene Creed. We regularly confess what we believe.

We also strive to be a community that regularly confesses our sins before Almighty God, so that we might remember our constant need for his grace and the sufficient payment of Jesus Christ. We remain true to the doctrine expressed by the Reformers, who forged the Protestant stream of faith, and upheld confidence in faith alone, in Christ alone, in Scripture alone, by grace alone, and only to the glory of God.
